Iowa roundup: Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney eked out a razor-thin victory in Tuesday night’s Iowa Republican caucuses, holding off former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum’s late-in-the-game-surge to win by 8 votes.

• McCain to endorse Romney (expected to make the announcement in N.H. today)
• After a disappointing fifth-place finish, Texas Gov. Rick Perry headed home to reassess his campaign, briefly choking up when he read aloud a letter from a supporter who drove from Texas to Iowa to support him
